Get “Wild in the Kitchen” at the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina Department of Agriculture (SCDA) is teaming up with the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition (SEWE) to get “Wild in the Kitchen” during the nation’s largest wildlife art and nature event February 12-14 in Charleston.

Food enthusiasts can visit the SCDA tent on Marion Square in downtown Charleston to watch a variety of cooking demonstrations from local chefs.  They will be preparing unique dishes with fresh, Certified SC ingredients.  Once again this year, our SC Chef Ambassadors will participate in sharing their culinary talent.

Guests will also be able to shop a variety of SC Specialty Food Association members showcasing and selling their product.  Pick up a “Wild in the Kitchen” cookbook to take home all the great recipes and product information.

New this year, South Carolina farmers will be on hand to answer questions about how your food goes from pasture to plate in the “Ask a Farmer” booth. Farmers will be available Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m., and on Sunday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The SCDA tent will be open to ticket holders on Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.  Tickets are available for purchase online at www.sewe.com. For more information on the “Wild in the Kitchen” cooking demos or other vendors, visit agriculture.sc.gov.
