When many community based farmers markets are closed for the season, the South Carolina State Farmers Market is just gearing up. Rain or shine, every Saturday through the winter and spring, the SC Department of Agriculture and the SC Specialty Food Association host a weekly indoor Certified SC Winter Farmers Market in the Corbett building at the State Farmers Market. Starting at 9 a.m. each week, visitors can enjoy shopping for locally grown or processed products in a cooled and heated indoor facility. How great is that!
The SC State Farmers Market has something local every season. The chickens are still laying eggs. The honey is still sweet. The greens are still leafy and crisp. There is always something to enjoy year-round that is produced right here in South Carolina. The Corbett Building is a market within a market. As an official SC Community Based Farmers Market, EBT cards are welcomed for many items at the Certified SC Winter Farmers Market.
