USC and Clemson Fans Invited to FREE Certified SC Grown Tailgate November 28

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina Department of Agriculture (SCDA) is hosting their annual Certified SC Grown tailgate on Saturday, November 28 from 8 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. This free tailgate is in Gamecock Village on Bluff Road.

Fans can taste and see how easy it is to incorporate Certified SC Grown produce and agricultural products in tailgates, family get-togethers, and holiday dinners. Chicken wings, collard dip, boiled peanuts, shrimp, and pound cake with peaches and cream are just some of the tailgate food planned for the big day.

Attendees can also learn more about the Certified SC Grown Palmetto Series. Throughout the year, as the Gamecocks and Tigers compete against each other, each will earn points for a win and the overall winner will take home the coveted Palmetto Series trophy and bragging rights.

“No matter which side of the historic rivalry you are on, supporting local farms and farmers across our state is something we can all agree on,” said SCDA Commissioner Hugh Weathers. “South Carolina has a rich tradition in both sports and agriculture, and we hope fans will come together and continue to select Certified SC Grown.”

Certified SC Grown is branding designed to help consumers easily identify produce grown in South Carolina or products made in the state. For more information on Certified SC Grown, visit certifiedscgrown.com. For more information on the Palmetto Series, visit palmettoseries.com.
