Commissioner Weathers and Boone Hall Plantation to Kick Off Strawberry Season

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Lowcountry Strawberry Festival at Boone Hall Plantation is April 10-13. Commissioner Hugh Weathers will help kick off the festival at a ribbon cutting Thursday, April 10 at 3 p.m. The ceremony is happening at a staging area located a half mile north of Long Point Rd. on Hwy. 17 in Mt. Pleasant.
The festival not only celebrates strawberries, but it also highlights all of South Carolina agriculture. From picking strawberries to feeding animals at the petting zoo, there is fun for the entire family. The South Carolina Department of Agriculture (SCDA) is hosting a tent in the ‘Farm Land’ section of the festival offering children’s activities and educational sessions for starting a home garden.
Friday: 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Sunday: 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.
