South Carolina Agricultural Tax Exemption (SCATE)

Farmers who participate in the agriculture industry for business purposes can receive an agriculture sales tax exemption card to purchase eligible products in South Carolina.

All you need is basic personal and business information, an email address and your credit/debit card or checking information. The fee is $24, and your card is good for five years.

Renew Your SCATE Card

You can renew your card up to 90 days before its expiration. You’ll be notified by email 30–60 days prior to expiration. If your card has expired, you can still renew it.

If you need additional/replacement card, a credit-card sized card, and two key-fob sized cards will be mailed to the address on your account. Each set (three total) costs $5.
