Commissioner’s Cup BBQ Cook-off and Festival Returns to State Farmers Market

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The 4th annual Commissioner’s Cup BBQ Cook-off and Festival is Saturday, March 21 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the State Farmers Market. Cook teams from across the southeast will compete for the State Championship title and other top prizes. The cook off is sanctioned by the Southern BBQ Network.

The festival will include live music from Going Commando Band on the SC Farm Bureau music stage and an exhibit of antique tractors and farm equipment. Children will stay entertained with a bouncy house, face painting, agriculture activities, games, and more. Make sure to bring your camera to snap their photo with the Easter bunny.

Sample a variety of BBQ slow smoked by cookers and vote for the People’s Choice Award. BBQ samples will be available while supplies last. You can also purchase a plate of BBQ to enjoy at the festival or take home. Food trucks will be on site with a variety of offerings from funnel cakes to ice cream. You can also pick up great products from SC Specialty Food producers and other craft vendors.

Admission is $5 for adults while children 12 and under get in free with 3 canned goods. All proceeds from this event benefit Harvest Hope Food Bank. Boxes will be on site during the festival for canned good donations.
