Exemption in South Carolina
In South Carolina, if a grower meets the requirements for an exemption they must submit an application to secure that exemption. This application process will require farms to contact SCDA, provide information about their operation, they will have to sign the application that states that they certify their compliance with requirements for exemption, and in return they will receive a certificate of exemption.
In South Carolina, if a farm has not applied for an exemption, they will be considered covered.
After conducting our self-assessment, if you believe you are exempt from the Produce Safety Rule, please fill out the below exemption application. Once we have received your application, we will review your application and get in touch with you. We will then mail you a package with a “Certificate of Exemption” along with a list of records you must keep to prove your exemption.
