Learn, Taste & See about SC Agriculture When You Visit the State Fair
COLUMBIA, S.C. – When you visit the South Carolina State Fair this year, come learn, taste, and see about SC agriculture! The South Carolina Department of Agriculture (SCDA) continues its long-standing tradition of participating in the fair.
Stop by the Cantey Building October 8 – 19 to experience the broad reach of SC agriculture. Visit the Fresh on the Menu cooking demonstration area to taste and see how you can incorporate Certified SC Grown produce and agricultural products into every day meals. Chefs from across the state will take part in daily cooking demos.
University of South Carolina First Lady, Patricia Moore-Pastides will prepare a recipe at 1 pm on October 9. The South Carolina Watermelon Association is hosting Chef Joseph Poon from Philadelphia, PA on Saturday, October 11. He will be demonstrating watermelon inspired recipes as well as creating unique watermelon carvings throughout the day. You can also learn about specific agriculture commodities in South Carolina on the following days:

 October 11-13 SC Agritourism
 October 14-16 SC Beef Board, SC Farm to School, SC Equine Industry
 October 17-19 SC Pork Board & SC Peach Council
