Recycle Day Scheduled for Midlands

COLUMBIA, S.C. –Richland County and the South Carolina Department of Agriculture (SCDA) are partnering for Richland Recycles Day, Saturday May 14 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the South Carolina State Fairgrounds in Columbia.

This annual event makes it easy for residents to responsibly dispose of broken or unwanted household items for recycling. Items accepted include: tires, paint, batteries, mattresses, scrap metal, home electronics, pesticides, used cooking oil, paper for shredding, household chemicals, fluorescent light bulbs, bikes, computers, and stereos.

SCDA will accept pesticides from any South Carolina farmer or resident. All other recycling is for Richland County residents only.
