South Carolina Department of Agriculture Expands Market Bulletin Access
Anyone Can Read Long-Running Farm-Focused Newspaper Online without a Subscription
COLUMBIA – As of February 2026, the South Carolina Market Bulletin is available online without a subscription.
The Market Bulletin has been published continuously since 1913 – first as a section in The State newspaper, then as a standalone publication. In addition to agriculture-related classified ads, the Market Bulletin contains articles, event listings, and news releases of interest to South Carolina farmers and supporters of agriculture. It also features the Commissioner’s Corner, a column by the South Carolina Commissioner of Agriculture.
Opening the Market Bulletin to a wider online readership will support its continued viability and relevance. The South Carolina Department of Agriculture will also continue to print and mail the Market Bulletin to print subscribers for $15 a year.
Why are we making this change?
- Fresh advertisers: For the Bulletin to continue to be relevant, farmers must be able to find items and services they need. Expanding access means a larger pool of potential classified advertisers.
- Ease of access: Open access is easier for our readers and frees up staff time spent on technical support.
Placing classified ads in the Market Bulletin is free. Ads must be related to agriculture and adhere to our policies.
